For more than two months, a piece of the Mississippi could be found in Leiden. It was an art object in the open-air exhibition ‘Beelden van Leiden’ (Statues of Leiden). Commissioned by artist Maud van den Beuken, we milled the shape from EPS. It is the shape of the cross section of the source of the American river, a large body of water measuring over 10 metres wide. The sculpture is made robust by a steel construction and polyurethane coating.
